Things I have learnt from and about teaching (so far)

  • The importance of compassion and respect for students
  • The importance of planning ahead
  • The necessity of making an arse out of myself in front of large groups of people once in a while

I think that teaching really becomes fun only after you no longer worry about how you appear as you are so consumed with the student learning going on that there is no mental room left for self.
